What is APPUiO and how does deployment work?

Can Claude Code deploy directly to APPUiO?

Yes. Claude Code can generate Dockerfiles, Kubernetes manifests, and Helm charts, then deploy them to APPUiO using standard kubectl commands. Since APPUiO is standard Kubernetes, any container-based workflow that Claude Code produces will work without modification. You can also set up GitHub Actions or GitLab CI pipelines that Claude Code generates to automate deployments on every push.

What managed databases and services are available?

The VSHN Application Catalog includes managed PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Redis, Kafka, S3-compatible object storage, Keycloak for identity and access management, and Grafana for monitoring and dashboards. All services include automated daily backups with up to 100 GB of backup storage, encryption at rest, and monitoring. Services are provisioned via Kubernetes custom resources and managed by VSHN engineers.

What is CAOS and what support does it include?

Custom Application Operations Support (CAOS) is VSHN's optional 24/7 operations service for your application. It includes incident response with defined escalation procedures, proactive monitoring and alerting, quarterly architecture reviews, capacity planning, and an availability SLA of 99.9% or higher depending on your tier. VSHN engineers become an extension of your team, handling operational tasks so you can focus on development.

How does Swiss data residency work?

APPUiO runs exclusively in Swiss data centres operated by cloudscale.ch and Exoscale, both headquartered in Switzerland. All application data, database contents, backups, and logs remain within Switzerland. This satisfies GDPR requirements, Swiss data protection law (nDSG), and industry-specific compliance standards. VSHN itself is a Swiss company based in Zürich, ensuring no foreign jurisdiction applies to your data.

How is APPUiO hosting priced?

APPUiO Cloud pricing starts from CHF 0.003 per milli-CPU per hour for compute and CHF 0.0007 per MiB per hour for memory. Managed database services from the Application Catalog start from CHF 0.11 per hour for best-effort instances. CAOS support pricing depends on the scope and SLA tier. Yes. APPUiO supports multiple isolated projects with independent access control, resource quotas, and billing. You can run separate staging, testing, and production environments on the same platform.
